D-SLR with zoom lens
Excludes large Pro D-SLR’s. Select ‘With Battery Grip Attached’ if you have these.
Lenses and accessories
Lenses come in many sizes so, to help calculations, we use a unit measurement of up to approximately 120mm (high) x 80mm (diameter). If you have any large, fast PRO lenses, please say so in the next section. This section also includes items such as flashguns, battery grips (usually 1 unit each) and spare D-SLR bodies (usually 2 units).
Pro Telephoto/Zoom Lenses
If you have extra long lenses the bag will need more depth. Do not count this section in you lens number calculation but count them as 2 – 3 units in the previous category.
Personal items
This section is designed for half/half backpacks which have a top section for waterproofs, sandwiches etc. Virtually all camera bags have pockets for small items such as filters, purse, keys etc.
Weatherproof
Most bags use weather resistant material but, with the zips, will not withstand a downpour. This section indicates whether the bag comes with a ‘raincoat’. If you indicate ‘Yes’ it will limit your choice.
Aircraft Carry-on
This is calculated as bags under 56x45x25cm as specified on the British Airways web site. EasyJet is 55x40x20cm. Other airlines may vary. As camera bags are squashy, there is some flexibility.
