Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS II EFs

  • EF-S-Mount Lens/APS-C Format
  • 28.8-88mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/3.5 to f/38
  • One Aspherical Element
  • Super Spectra Coating
  • Micro Motor AF System
  • Optical Image Stabilizer
  • Rounded 6-Blade Diaphragm

Affordable, high-quality zoom

The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II is a high-quality, standard zoom lens that will appeal to photographers who prefer to travel light. With a focal length equivalent of 29-88mm in 35mm format, the lens' wide zoom range is suitable for most general photography. For close-up work, the working distance is just 0.25m (25cm) throughout the zoom range.

Image Stabilizer

To minimise risk of image blur, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II incorporates Canon's four-stop Image Stabilizer technology. This allows photographers to use shutter speeds up to four times slower than normal with no perceptible increase in image blur - ideal for shooting in low light.

Aspherical lens element with Super Spectra coating

As well as ensuring true colour balance and sharp, high contrast images, Super Spectra coatings combat ghosting and flare by absorbing light reflecting off digital camera sensors or internal lens elements. An aspherical lens element delivers crisp, high contrast images - even with the aperture fully open.

Circular aperture

For shots taken at wide apertures, a circular aperture diaphragm gives a smooth, even blur to your background, helping to emphasise foreground subjects and remove distractions.

Lead-free glass

Only environmentally-friendly, lead-free glass is used in the construction of the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II.

Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 EFs IS STM

Ultra wide angle zoom lens designed for APS-C sensors.  What's more, this also incorporates Canon's STM focusing system for smooth AF in LiveView and movie modes.  Perfect in getting those rolling hills, city landscapes and massive groups when space is limited.

  • Get more in every shot with this ultra-wide zoom lens
  • Easy to carry thanks to a light, compact design
  • Enjoy smooth, near-silent AF when shooting movies
  • Steady stills and movies with 4-stop Image Stabilizer
  • Get closer to your subjects with 0.22m close focusing

Compact, lightweight ultra-wide angle zoom lens

Compact and lightweight (240g) with a compact design that’s ideal for travel, this ultra-wide angle 10-18mm zoom lens fits more in the frame – even when you are close to your subject - so you can capture more in every shot without stepping back. Designed for EOS DSLRs with APS-C sized sensors, it adds impact to landscapes, cityscapes and skies, and allows you to capture expansive interiors and architecture with ease.

Smooth, near-silent STM focusing in movies

Recording high quality movies that are always sharply focused is easy with STM (Stepping Motor Technology). It delivers steady near-silent continuous focusing, so your movies are smooth, and soundtracks only capture the surrounding sounds and not the noise of a focusing motor. The Image Stabilizer counteracts camera movement when shooting movies handheld.

Sharp images with 4-stop Image Stabilizer

The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM delivers steadier shots in all situations, particularly when shooting handheld in low light. The lens incorporates a 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer to capture superb low light photos, as well as steadier movie footage.

Great image quality

Designed specifically for digital photography, the lens includes aspherical and UD lens elements, which correct any spherical and chromatic aberrations that might spoil your images. The lens also features a Super Spectra Coating that helps ensure accurate colour balance and high contrast as well as suppress flare and ghosting, for beautiful images in any lighting situation. An exclusive optional lens hood can further reduce the incidence of flare.

0.22m minimum focusing distance

With only a 0.22m focusing distance you can get closer to your subjects and still enjoy an ultra-wide field of view.

Take control with manual focus ring

Take control of your creativity with a dedicated manual focus control ring that allows full time manual focusing even when shooting movies or using a filter.

Background blur

A 7-blade circular aperture allows for a pleasing background blur when shooting with a wide aperture; ideal for creating a sense of depth and getting your subject to stand out from the background.

TechRadar UK

It's hard to get overly excited about the EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 2000D / EOS 1500D, with its modest specifications. But if you want to get started with DSLR photography and don't have a very large budget to match, it's a decent place to start - particularly if you can pick it up for a bargain.

Trusted Reviews

Looking to take your first steps into DSLR photography? The EOS 2000D is Canon’s latest entry-level model, replacing the similarly affordable EOS 1300D. It retains most of the 1300D’s core features, with the main upgrade being a boost in sensor resolution.

Photography BLOG

The Canon EOS 2000D represents one of the most minor upgrades to an existing camera that we've ever reviewed, being almost completely identical in both form and function to the 1300D model that it replaces, with the exception of the new 24 megapixel image sensor.

The Canon EOS 2000D is a minor update to the Canon EOS 1300D. Whilst the 1300D was (and still is) a budget DSLR, with built-in Wi-Fi, as an entry level model its basic specification could be accepted due to the low price.

The EOS 2000D is a safe choice for beginners on a budget, but rivals make it look outdated in some key areas

Practical Photography

The slightly more advanced version of the 4000D, this offering is a little more up to date, with a price-tag to match. It boasts a 24.1MP APS-C sensor, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens and 3in 920k-dot rear LCD screen. However, beyond this, and a few cosmetic upgrades, it’s a very similar story.

Camera Labs

The Canon EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 provides one of the most affordable pathways to serious photography for beginners on a budget. Interchangeable lenses, a 24 Megapixel APSC sensor, an optical viewfinder and a good LCD screen don't come much cheaper than this.

Camera Jabber

Canon hasn’t changed a great deal about the 1300D/T6 for the 2000D/T7 but the switch to a 24Mp is significant because it puts it level with the Nikon D3400, another very popular entry-level SLR.

Digital Camera World

The Canon Rebel T7 (EOS 2000D) offers decent image capture at an affordable price, but this is definitely a bud...

The Digital Picture

The age-old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds a lot of truth for photography gear, but ... the Canon EOS Rebel T7 defies this logic to some extent. While the T7 feature set is best considered basic/entry-level and this is not the ideal camera for many uses (including sports and action),...

This is my first DSLR camera and I bought it after reading the reviews. I have been using it for a month now and honestly it worth every penny. As someone like me who is a beginner this camera is very user friendly.

I bought this as I have always wanted a dslr and this is a great starter camera. It is easy to use and when you pair it to your phone or laptop, you just download your pictures no need to take the memory card out. The battery lasts a long time on it. If starting out this is ideal.

Wex Photo Video

Purchased this camera as first purchase was a great little intro to DSLR my lenses far outweigh the price of this body but this little workhorse kept up with the rest of my expensive kit. I travelled across the states earlier this year and captured some great images.

Excellent entry level camera for people who want to do more than leave their cameras on Auto setting all the time. Maybe not the convenience of a mobile phone but the difference in photo quality is staggering, Best feature is the easy transfer of photos from camera to smart phone.

Love it! Tons of modes and the quality of the pictures are perfect for a casual photographer like me, start of on manual mode to master aperture, shutter speed and ISO to get the best out of it. Super!

Having had my 450d occurring faults I decided that replacing it was too much at my time of life so the 2000D seemed to fit the bill using my existing lens and so it has

Wilkinson Cameras

I purchased this camera to supplement my 80D and so far I have been satisfied. The unit is lightweight, even with the Tamron 18-200 lens attached and has a positive feel when held.

Great beginner camera, plenty of opportunities to learn. Brilliant choice for a beginner :)
