Blending high resolution with apt stills and video capabilities, the black Canon EOS M6 Mark II is a sleek mirrorless body with a range of features to suit multimedia applications. Its APS-C-sized 32.5MP CMOS sensor achieves enhanced image clarity, resolution, and dynamic range, along with adept sensitivity and low noise to suit working in a variety of situations. Combined with advanced image processing, this sensor is also capable of outputting UHD 4K30p and Full HD 120p video, as well as supporting continuous stills shooting rates up to 14 fps with AF and AE tracking.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides 5481 selectable points for precise, smooth, and fast focusing for both photo and video, and support for Eye AF Servo prioritizes subjects' eyes when photographing portraits. Complementing the imaging capabilities, the EOS M6 Mark II incorporates a 3.0" touchscreen LCD, which has a 180° tilting design for front-facing shots. The auxiliary EVF-DC2 electronic viewfinder is also included, which attaches via the camera's hot shoe, in order to provide clear eye-level viewing. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allow you to pair mobile devices with the camera to wirelessly transfer files for sharing your photos and movies online.

32.5MP APS-C CMOS Sensor

Featuring an impressively high-resolution 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor, the EOS M6 Mark II is capable of producing imagery with notable clarity and dynamic range, as well as a broad sensitivity range and low noise to support working in difficult lighting situations. The sensor and image processor also realize fast performance throughout the camera system, including the ability to shoot continuously at up to 14 fps with AF/AE tracking, record UHD 4K30p video, or record high-speed Full HD 1080p video at 120 fps.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF Systems

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF system features 5481 selectable autofocus points for refined accuracy across nearly the entire image plane and also supports Eye AF Servo for exacting focus accuracy on portrait subjects. This focusing system offers smooth and fast focusing performance in a similar manner to how a camcorder acquires focus. Dual Pixel CMOS AF integrates two separate photodiodes within each pixel to provide a broad and dense network of phase-detection gathering elements across a majority of the image sensor to reduce focus hunting for faster, more direct control of focus placement.

When working with still imagery, this focusing system works to acquire focus quickly and accurately, making it ideally suited to shooting and tracking moving subjects so that critical focus is attained with each shot. When shooting video, a Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances within the scene, as well as the ability to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face Tracking priority. Benefited by the Touch AF system, rack focus is possible simply by touching elements within the scene on the touchscreen in order to change focus in an intuitive manner. Subject tracking in movies is also heightened due to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system's ability to recognize subjects and maintain focus when working within changing or cluttered scenery.

Body Design and Wireless Connectivity

  • Large 3.0" touchscreen LCD provides an intuitive method for controlling focusing points, navigating menus, and reviewing imagery. This screen also features a tilting design (180° upward, 45° downward) to better enable working from high and low angles.
  • Compatible with optional shoe-mounted EVF-DC2 auxiliary electronic viewfinder for clear, high-resolution eye-level viewing.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi allows for easy wireless sharing of both photos and movies to a linked mobile device and Bluetooth connectivity permits linking a smartphone or tablet for quick image sharing between devices as well as remote control capabilities when using the Canon Camera Connect app. This app also enables a mobile raw editing workflow for greater post-production freedom.

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II, is a high resolution, high-spec camera, with a 32mp sensor, high-speed continuous shooting, 4K video, and fast auto-focus, with plenty of external controls, and the camera is capable of delivering great-looking photos.

Halfway between amateur and pro, halfway between stills and video, it’s a great little camera for producing a little bit of everything

TechRadar UK

There’s a lot to like about the Canon EOS M6 Mark II. Its small size and low weight make it the ideal traveling companion, without compromising on specs and features, and a super-high resolution APS-C sensor, 14fps shooting and uncropped 4K add up to one tasty package.

Andy Westlake takes a close look at Canon's updated mid-range APS-C mirrorless camera

Although many enthusiasts could be drawn more to the handling and optical viewfinder of a DSLR like the EOS 90D , the EOS M6 Mark II will interest the increasing number of photographers being drawn to the compact nature and live view-centric design of a mirrorless camera.

PC Magazine

The EOS M6 Mark II marks a big step forward for Canon's APS-C mirrorless system, but the available lenses aren't as appealing as those offered by Fujifilm and Sony.

DP Review

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II is a very capable camera that's now supported by a reasonable range of EF-M lenses. Improved autofocus and refined ergonomics make it a likeable and engaging camera to shoot with.

Camera Labs

The EOS M6 Mark II becomes Canon’s flagship mirrorless camera with an APSC sensor. The combination of a new 32.5 Megapixel sensor and DIGIC 8 processor banishes many of the annoyances of earlier Canon bodies, allowing the M6 II to shoot uncropped 4k video and 14fps bursts, both with decent...

I absolutely love the hardware and taking videos was much better than I expected, but my experience with photos wasn't as clean as I hoped it would be.

If I were going to plunk down my own money for Canon M6 II, I would go for the silver body version of this camera. It just looks higher end, in my opinion. I would also opt for that retro looking EVF-DC2 Electronic Viewfinder, not only for its functionally but for a cool factor turned up to eleven.

Having found that due to ageing I was unable to carry on using & holding a bulky Canon DSLR + "L" series lenses I decided to go for the M6 Mkll , I already had the M5 which was quite good and several lenses but I wanted some thing better after using the DSLR for a main camera & the M6 met that...

This camera is easy and very enjoyable to use. The autofocus is very impressive, particularly its subject tracking. I initially thought the add on EVF was a little goofy looking, but in use it is very well implemented. All EF and EF-S lenses work perfectly with an adapter.

The movie button is far too close to the grip causing the thumb to activate the movie unintentionally. Most frustrating. This is as the G7XMKIII which I also have. This is very poor ergonomics.

Wilkinson Cameras

An excellent all round camera. Pity there are not many dedicated lenses but EF lens work on the M6 with an adapter.

Clifton Cameras

Great camera in such a compact body. I have a full size Canon DSLR, and this is superior in features and performance. I can even use my full size lens when using an adapter. Highly recommended.

I bought this to replace an older Canon EOS camera. It took me a long time to decide that a mirrorless body was the way to go but in the end everything I read said yes. I have used it for a few weeks now and the results are fantastic (as you would expect from a Canon camera)

John Lewis

fabulous camera , a cropped image still looks good and sharp and clear no signs of noise or grain . The camera full of features just like slr,s . The clip on view finder has dioptre lens adjustment .

Many years ago I spent thousands of pounds on the latest SLR cameras and lenses to take transparency photographs. I changed to the best digital compact camera at the time which gave me 4mp pictures and 10 seconds of video. I lost interest in photography and finished up recently with a Nikon bridge camera which gave me good results on Auto but not much else. When it packed up recently I decided to give photography another go and decided on the Canon M6 Mark II after reading lots of reviews. I was more than satisfied with the service given by CameraWorld. Knowledgeable staff quickly answered the few questions I had and the camera arrived 21 hours after I ordered it. I am now getting to grips again with all the options away from Auto. I like the electronic viewfinder as I always struggle to see a screen in bright daylight. The camera is giving me a bit of information overload at the moment but I am getting used to it. I have spent quite a few hours sat on the sofa just changing the settings to familiarise myself completely with all the options. I still need much more practice editing RAW images and I have not really got into the video settings yet. I am delighted with the camera. It has reignited my interest in photography. Reassuring to know that the Auto panic button is always there if needed but the real fun is with the M, Av and Fv settings.

Its light and small, it has everything I need, i love it
