It's a switch and does what it says on the tin! Seems very good so far.

A fairly basic bit of kit, essentially just a switch to fire the shutter when the camera is on a tripod or similar. It works and feels good. Unfortunately it carries a Canon badge and this automatically puts up the price.
What I like about it is the way it exactly mimics the shutter release on the camera. In other words, press down halfway and auto-focus kicks in then the rest of the way to release the shutter.
What can i say, Got to have this for those Portrait/Macro shots, an easy to use remote far better than the IR Remote. Simple to use and a great price.
This remote is good quality and works great with my Canon 80D. I like the way you can press the button half way just like on the camera shutter to check your focus and exposure then press fully to take a shot or hold down to take multiple shots.
Has really expanded my night photography skills and love it for taking shots of the grandkids.
I have the wireless remote but find this one much better because you dont have to stand in front of the camera. The wireless is mostly for taking self portraits. With the corded I can get down low to the ground with my mini tripod.
Just the "ticket" for use with big lenses on tripod. Very happy with product and just what I needed.
