This award appeals to all of our sensitivities as we think it is really important to support young people on their journey into this industry but this year’s winner, Lou Johnson, has proved her worth in not one but two industries that are heavily dominated by men.  Lou is the first woman to win the title of Motorsport UK Young Photographer of the Year and it is clear to see why as her images are technically strong, creative and they tell a great story.

Her story started as a child in Kent when Lou would regularly attend races at Brands Hatch with her Dad. As a teen, she took an interest in photography, that she later studied at university, and combining these two hobbies was a natural progression.

Track side is a stunning arena for great shooting and is just one of the reasons that we host our annual event, CameraWorld Live: Brands Hatch. ThIs year's show, on Thursday 30th July (add it to your diary) will have all the top brands in cameras, lenses and accessories exhibiting their latest gear with track side photo walks, live demos and shooting opportunities throughout the day.
