Born from a desire for flagship performance and innovation in a more compact and streamlined connected camera, the D7500 delivers the game-changing resolution, ISO range, image processing and energy efficiency of the award-winning D500 in an enthusiast-level DSLR. Simply put, the D7500 is built to outperform any camera in its class with top-tier image quality, blazing speed, flawless autofocus, 4K Ultra HD video and pro-grade creative tools—all in a comfortable, rugged design. This is a camera for the new generation of creators.

Here. Or there. In darkness or light. Put the shot of a lifetime within your reach. 20.9 MP DX-format sensor. EXPEED 5. 180K-pixel RGB metering sensor.

The D7500 delivers crisp, high-definition images with rich tonal gradations. You’ll enjoy phenomenally accurate subject recognition and superior performance at high ISOs. You’ll marvel at the quality of its 4K/UHD video footage. And the in-camera Picture Control system makes it easy to apply your own creative style whether you’re shooting stills or video.

Excel in low light. With ISO 100-51200 extendable up to ISO 1640000 (equivalent), the D7500 isn’t afraid of the dark.

The fast EXPEED 5 processing engine ensures remarkable image quality across the ISO range. Fine noise is dramatically reduced and even cropped images shot at high ISO values retain their quality. The Hi 5 setting lets you shoot at an incredible ISO 1640000 (equivalent) and make the most out of available light.

Capture precise exposures and dynamic compositions. 180K-pixel RGB metering sensor and Advanced Scene Recognition system.

The camera’s 180K-pixel RGB metering sensor and Advanced Scene Recognition system combine to ensure you’ll get the shot—even when the scene involves smaller or fast-moving subjects. For high-contrast scenes, the new highlight-weighted metering will prioritise the brightest elements in the frame, and help you avoid images with blown-out highlights.

Whatever you shoot, the 51-point AF system will track your subject, lock onto it, and keep it in focus. Even if the only light is the moonlight.

The AF system boasts 15 central cross-type sensors, and is accurate all the way down to an impressive -3 EV. You can capture sharply defined shots at night without using additional lighting. Group Area AF mode delivers enhanced subject detection and tracking when shooting subjects that are comparatively small and close to a high-contrast or distracting background.

Elevate your movies to the next level. Record in ultra-high-definition detail at up to 30 frames per second.

Shoot stunning 4K/UHD 30p footage, or record Full HD (1080p) video at frame rates up to 50p/60p. The camera offers clean HDMI out: you can even output uncompressed HDMI to an external device and the in-camera SD memory card simultaneously. You can optimise video for smart devices by recording in MP4 and AAC formats. And Nikon’s Electronic Vibration Reduction dramatically reduces the effects of camera shake when shooting Full HD movies handheld.

Transform street scenes and sunrises into dramatic high-speed sequences with the built-in interval timer and 4K/UHD-quality time-lapse function.

Easily generate 4K/UHD and Full HD time-lapse movies in-camera. The exposure smoothing function will reduce unwanted flicker effects when shooting with an auto exposure mode such as aperture-priority.

Find the ultimate shot even if it’s hidden inside a blur of motion. Capture 50 NEF (RAW) or 100 JPEG images in one high-speed burst.

Never miss the moment that defines the event. Shoot up to approx. 8 fps for approx. 50 frames in 14-bit lossless compressed RAW. Or capture up to 100 frames in Large JPEG Fine during one high-speed burst. Full AF/AE tracking during continuous shooting ensures there’s no sacrificing precision for speed.

Adventurous images are everywhere. Tap the slimline tilting touchscreen monitor to focus and shoot from high viewpoints and intriguing angles.

The 8 cm (3.2 in) tilting monitor lets you operate AF and shutter-release functions via touch controls when you shoot in Live View. And the well-placed command dial and multi-selector make it easy to change settings as you shoot.

The ultimate image, captured with no distractions. With an optical pentaprism viewfinder that offers approximately 100 % frame coverage—it’s possible.

The viewfinder’s optical system delivers an incredibly clear view through the lens. Sunlight, glare, and external movements are blocked out: what you see is what you get. And if you’re using a telephoto lens, the viewfinder enables you to adopt a shooting position that gives a more stable hold.

Share the thrills. SnapBridge.

Capturing sweeping landscapes, detailed shots of distant subjects, and sharp HD movies, this versatile lens is a great all-rounder. Ideal for amateur photographers, this lens boasts a broad 18–140mm focal range that allows the freedom to shoot a wide variety of subjects without changing lenses. It’s practical and portable, and makes a highly convenient option when you want to travel light but still make the most of a wide range of shooting opportunities.

All-rounder

With a broad 18–140mm focal range that covers most commonly used focal lengths with ease, this new NIKKOR is a true all-rounder. Whether shooting sweeping landscapes at the wide-angle end of the range, or making the most of the lens’s telephoto capabilities to zoom in and capture subject detail from a distance, budding photographers and occasional weekend shooters will appreciate the chance to capture high-quality photos and movies without needing to change lenses.

Steady shooting

Complementing the versatile focal range is Nikon’s Vibration Reduction technology (VR) that lets photographers use shutter speeds up to four stops slower, allowing more effective low-light shooting and ensuring substantially sharper handheld images across the zoom range. Image blur is dramatically reduced, especially when shooting towards the telephoto end of the range. The VR technology also ensures the camera maintains a steady view, even when shooting movies, and it actually enhances visibility when panning. Operation is quiet, when shooting stills or filming.

Optimal image quality

Optimised to meet the requirements of today’s high megapixel D-SLR sensors, this lens delivers superior images throughout the zoom range. The optical design boasts 17 elements in 12 groups. One ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element and one aspherical lens element help ensure high resolution and contrast while minimizing most forms of aberration and colour dispersion.

Travel light

Well-balanced in terms of size, weight, price and image quality, this lens offers a worthwhile combination of precision NIKKOR optics, a broad focal range and a lightweight (490 g) build. The metal mount and rubber weather-sealing provide extra durability when traveling.
The Vibration Reduction system minimizes the effects of camera shake for blur-free images and helps to ensure a steady viewfinder image. Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor enables fast, quiet autofocus.

Despite its age, the D7500 remains a strong all-round performer, particularly for its ever-decreasing price. Its pairing of an impressive 20.9MP sensor with the same image processing engine found in the D500 remains a cracking combination, while specs like 8fps burst shooting and 4K video keep it up...

Trusted Reviews

The Nikon D7500 is a DSLR designed for enthusiast photographers. With a 20.9-megapixel DX format sensor and 8fps shooting, it sits between the D5600 and the D500 in Nikon’s range, and costs around £1300 for the body only.

ePHOTOzine

With the Nikon D7500 featuring the same image sensor as the Nikon D500, you are getting the same D500 image quality, at a lower price point, and in a more compact camera body. This means you can benefit from the best-in-class noise performance, giving usable ISO up to ISO25600.

Pocket Lint

The Nikon D7500 is a cracking camera. It's up there with the most usable Nikon DSLR ever, thanks to it's fast processor, solid build, bright viewfinder and responsive tilt-angle touchscreen.

Photography BLOG

For enthusiasts who are excited by the D500 but didn’t want to spend the high asking price it commands, the Nikon D7500 is a great alternative. With it, you almost get a mini D500, especially given that it uses the same sensor and processor combination.

Practical Photography

Nikon is currently celebrating its 100th year in the photographic industry, and its extremely impressive resume includes both the first professional SLR to feature autofocus (1988’s Nikon F4) and the first SLR camera to record video (the D90, released in 2008).

I am an enthusiast photographer and I don't tie myself down to one particular type of photography. The D7500 for me so far is a good all round DSLR. So far I've tried motorsport, wildlife, street and although it apparently not recommended for it, a bit of landscape photography.

WEX

Use it for wildlife, mainly on our feathered friends. Portrait and scenery will never go a miss and the image quality outstanding. This camera is a true gem sitting pretty close with the big hitters.

I bought this for my wife as an upgrade on the D7000. It is an excellent camera with a number of new features and the picture quality is exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend for someone that loves to takes photos but does not need to be a professional photographer.

Rate My Camera

High quality camera with convenient functionalities, plus simple setups. Images come out rich in colour, with beautiful focal pointing adjustments depends on what lenses are used. The weight is comfortable with supportive straps. Recommended to all that is looking for the perfect camera.

Castle Cameras

I wish I'd upgraded to the Nikon D7500 earlier. Its low-light capabilities far exceed those of the D7000 I traded in for it and that of my D7100 which, admittedly, is 8 years old now. I might well upgrade that too!

Harrison Cameras

This is my first new camera in eight years, and i'm amazed just how much things have moved on. I moved from a Pentax K5 ( which i still own and love) to the Nikon D7500 due to a lack of suitable lenses in the 150-600mm range.

Littlewoods

Bought as an upgrade to my D5300 and I’m not disappointed, it’s a great camera upgrade with loads of new stuff and is very customisable to keep me amused for ages and although heavier it feels so much better in my hands than my previous one.

Very

Very good range of options will keep most people happy - unless you are an advanced/pro in which case you will be looking at D850 etc anyway (3 times more expensive). This is a great product, especially in its price bracket you will be hard pressed for any better.
