Comprising eight elements in seven groups, the Panasonic 25mm has a more complex optical construction than most lenses with a similar angle of view. It also includes one ultra-high refractive index glass element and two aspherical elements, which are designed to minimise chromatic aberration and...

Solid – it is perhaps one word that fits the tested Panasonic 1.7/25 the best. There are no fireworks but also no slip-ups. In many categories you see good or at least decent results; add to that a very sensible price and you get a lens even more worth recommending than the more expensive and a tad...

Photography BLOG

The Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH is a very good standard lens at a very affordable price, making it a must-have purchase if you don't already have a 50mm equivalent lens in your kit-bag. Optically the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH is an excellent performer.

Practical Photography

Verdict: This Lumix G 25mm is an exceptional lens for portrait or travel photography, given its 35mm equivalent length of 50mm, and the wide f/1.7 aperture makes it easy to shoot handheld in low light conditions.

ePHOTOzine

Much of the performance of this lens is exemplary, especially considering the modest cost. The only real drawback is the susceptibility to flare, which is very evident in shots taken into the light. If this can be accepted then the lens is without doubt an excellent proposition.

DP Review

The Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH is a compact and lightweight prime lens for Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. It offers an equivalent focal length of 50mm in full-frame terms, and an equivalent maximum aperture of F3.4.

What Digital Camera

For all there is to like about mirrorless systems – particularly their compact size and light weight – one legitimate area of criticism has been the relatively high cost of many lenses. Aside from a few honourable exceptions, genuinely affordable optics have been in short supply.

Camera Decision

Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH is an Auto Focus (AF) Standard Prime lens with FourThirds max sensor coverage and it is designed to be used with Micro Four Thirds mount cameras. Lens Mount Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH is compatible with cameras that have Micro Four Thirds lens mount.

After my initial positive review where I \'complained\' that I did not use this lens more often, I happily forced myself to use this lens but found results disappointing. On my OM-EM10 (16Mp) the lens worked fine, on the EM1-ii the results were a bit dull and lacking crispness.

Received today. Looks and feels good. no issues with slow focus or it hunting. only comment so far is the Beauty ring that needs to be removed for the supplied Hood is very very tight. CARE Needed

Lightweight but well built lens. Wide f1.7 aperture with fast auto focus. Manual focusing is a trifle slow but it does get there.Colour reproduction is excellent both in photos and video, I would not hesitate to recommend this fantastic lens. Its cheap but very well constructed.

Very

I bought this to supplement the standard lens with my Olympus OM DEM10. My plan was to use it for some portrait shots, but I haven't as yet. I have had brilliant results, though, with architecture shots- the lens gives crisp detail on subject in focus, and beautiful bokeh in the background.

UK Digital

Very satisfied within lens, great for portrait mode photos.

Simply a \'must have\', the perfect standard lens for MFT. A shame that I do not find more opportunities to use this lens as I do mainly landscape and architecture at the moment.
