This Micro Four Thirds Olympus prime is a great option for those looking to save weight, coming in at a dainty 130g. Its metal build quality feels very sturdy and the 11 elements in eight groups offer aspherical and ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) elements, which keep chromatic aberration to a bare...

Olympus claims its latest innovation, intriguingly named ZERO (ZUIKO Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating, halves distracting and unwanted reflections when compared with pictures taken using lenses that have conventional coatings.

The beautifully crafted, all-metal Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2 is a strong performer in the optical department, offering an attractive combination of edge-to-edge sharpness and fast aperture speeds.

What Digital Camera

The Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 12mm f/2 ED is a well-built lens that promises some first-class results

There isn't much to add here that the tests don't already say for themselves - the Olympus 12mm ƒ/2 M.Zuiko offers excellent results for sharpness in a quality package. The price might be prohibitive for some, but if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic lens - beautifully constructed and tack sharp. The f2 aperture is useful with nice bokeh. I love the manual focus switch which is activated by pulling the focus ring towards yourself - quick, easy and intuitive. Brilliant lens.

I liked the 12mm f/2 Olympus a lot when I got it along with my Olympus Pen E-P3 but no longer use it now that I have the Olympus 12-40mm lens. Image quality is good, flare resistance is very good for this focal length, distortion is low as is vignetting but I actually expected more from this lens.

This Olympus 12mm was one of the first prime lenses I bought for my Micro Four Thirds camera several years ago. I still own it today. Its a beautifully made compact and lightweight wide angle lens that delivers great image quality.

Light and comfortable, the 12mm Zuiko is a dream. Feels even better than old fashioned lenses. Sharp from lowest to highest aperture and smooth operation. Very high recommend.

I don't use it that often, but when I use it ... it keeps on impressing me !

Some say they prefer the 12-40 at 12mm, but not me. I am in particular impressed by its near-Leica rendering (in B&W). The wide aperture is very useful for creative close-ups. Good behaviour at night; as a matter of fact it is my favourite for night cityscapes (on a par with the Zeiss 35/2 on...

I fancied a wider lens than my 17mm pancake (retained) for cross country walking deep in the wonderful Kent countryside. The lens is not heavy, and quick 'on-the-draw' to focus, if required. WEX was the cheapest at £500 at release, (thank you).
