Compact wide-angle prime lens

Shooting stills or movies, this slim (20.4mm), lightweight pancake lens offers outstanding performance. Use it for interiors, nature, snapshots and more.

Smooth defocusing

Instead of a standard polygon-shaped lens aperture, this lens features a 7-blade circular aperture for more natural, rounded defocusing or ‘bokeh’.

Refined optical performance

To optimise performance, aspherical lens elements maintain high contrast (even with the aperture wide open) and minimise distortion and flatness of the image plane.

Fast, agile focusing

A rear focusing mechanism means the lens barrel doesn’t move, enabling a more compact design, faster autofocus response, and reduced minimum focusing distances.

  • Broaden your view with a wide angle - From a vast cliff to a stretching sandy beach, fit everything in with a 20mm wide angle (30mm in 35mm equivalent focal length)
  • Rich detail from corner to corner - Three parts inside the lens work together to fix blur and distortion, even the outer edges of your photos will be crisp and clear
  • Keep bulk to a minimum - Preparing for a day’s shoot? Slip this ‘pancake’ lens into your kit bag, a focal length of just 20mm won’t take up much space
  • Low light? No problem - This fixed lens has a bright, wide aperture of F2.8 so you can capture atmospheric shots even at dusk
  • Looks good when you shoot - The sleek aluminium design adds a stylish touch wherever you’re shooting
  • Get hands-on with smooth manual focusing - An easy-grip ring on the lens barrel helps you control whether your subject is sharply in focus or blurred against the background

This lens now permanently resides on my a5100 used as a webcam through a capture card. A very expensive webcam but the picture quality is worth it. Clients often mention the quality and clarity of the image so it is clearly well received.

I bought this one new, as it is so cheap! It's well made for the money, and makes my a6400 into a 35mm equivalent high-end compact. I haven't used it very much, but the quality of the images is very good and it is very light and small.

Been shooting with this lens. Although it may not be very sharp wide open, it's portability and campactness makes it easy to carry it as a walk around lens.

I bought this lens for landscapes, To do panorama and to to architectural shots. I've now been taking portraits and also taking it out for wave images. Such a great all round lens.

This is purely a simple everyday use lens. f/2.8 is not enough for low light if you want clean images. In reality, when mounted onto an APS-C camera without IBIS, the minimum shutter has to be set to 2x the effective focal length in order to curb any form of camera shake.

B&H Photo

It will make your Sony a6xxx even lighter and more portable - almost like a P&S - will fit into coat pocket. Sharper and faster than the kit lens, it is ideal for street photography and other wide applications. Even more desireable after the $50 price drop and with special free polarizing filter.
