This is, as with all things Nikon, very well made. And it fits like a glove! However, I find it does restrict one's finger movement that can make using the front dial difficult. Apart from that, it is pretty easy to get on and off after some practice. I have small hands and this is good for me.

Nikon AH-4 Grip Strap
Keep your camera to hand
Just as a neck strap keeps a camera attached to your neck, the Nikon AH-4 Leather Hand Grip keeps a camera attached to your hand.
A neck strap has a tendency to get in the way when it is not actively being used - and can even be the cause of a dropped camera if the strap catches on something unexpectedly.
If you are going to be primarily holding the camera in your hand, it may make more sense to use a hand strap. The hand strap helps control and support the camera - and helps prevent it from falling to the ground.
Mostly I just want to make the point that your description 'The Nikon AH-4 Handstrap is suitable for many Nikon SLR cameras ' is misleading. It's not in any way Nikon-specific, as it fits any camera with strap eyes and a standard tripod thread
Really helps on a busy shoot. Gives a very secure grip. If you like to sometimes use a neckstrap it is fiddley to switch over.
Although expensive this strap is easy to attach and has a quick release pull making it perfect for wedding photography. I can reach all the controls with ease and it feels secure. As a female photographer who finds neck straps uncomfortable and cumbersome this strap is the answer for me.
Works perfectly on my Nikon Df. Had a bit of a problem figuring out how to incorporate this grip strap with an RRS L-bracket (supplied instruction sheet was useless) but was able to do so eventually. This combination works flawlessly.
This review is for my Nikon D750 only. This strap may work well on other cameras. The tripod adapter plate that attaches to the base of the camera presses on the bottom of the digital screen on the back of the camera preventing it from opening to tilt position. Re: the strap itself.
I use this on my D750 in situations where I want the camera immediately available at all times. The half that your hand fits in is acceptable for it's purpose. In fact, pretty good.
The leather is very nice but the strap is a little short if use it on my D800 with battery grip. The attachment plate for attaching to the bottom of the camera is a cheap plastic plate and can not be use to attach to tripod. The only option is to replace it with one that can be use with tripod.
EXCELLENT HANDSTRAP, HAVE TWO, ONE FOR MY D810 AND NOW MY D500;IT WORKS GREAT WITH THE VERTICAL GRIP ATTACHED.
