When it comes to image quality, the Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens is capable of delivering some beautiful images when paired with something like the Fuji X-Pro2. Sharpness is great throughout the aperture range, and you’re likely to be pleased with what it can deliver.
Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR, Verdict:
With a very even and impressive performance, weather resistance, great handling and high-quality finish it would be hard not to like this Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens. The Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR is an ideal standard lens for the range of Fujifilm cameras.
The Fujinon XF 23 mm f/1.4 R, tested here by us, must get a really positive assessment. Still the situation is hardly so rosy if you start comparing the price of that lens to the prices of its rivals.
The Fujifilm XF 35mm F2 R WR offers a classic standard focal length, fast maximum aperture and weather-proofing in a small, discrete package, making it well-suited to street, reportage and low-light photography in any conditions when paired with a similarly weather-proof body.
Sporting the same field of view as a 35mm lens does on a 35mm camera, this lens should be a popular choice for the wish list of many Fuji X-series camera owners, especially with that fast f/1.4 maximum aperture.
The Fujifilm XF 23mm F1.4 R offers a classic focal length and an ultra-fast aperture, making it well-suited to street and reportage photography. Optically it's also a great lens in its own right, with virtually nothing to complain about apart from the price.
Because it covers a ‘normal’ visual perspective and is relatively affordable for a medium format lens, the GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR is likely to be one of the first lenses chosen when photographers buy into Fujifilm’s medium format system.
The XF 23mm f1.4 LM WR outperforms its predecessors to become the best overall mild-wide-angle lens Fujifilm has produced for the X-system to date. It delivers pin-sharp details across the frame, wide-open and at both near and far distances.
While most people gush over the Fuji 35, I have to say, this is the real gem of the Fuji lineup as it is superior in every way, when compared to the Fuji 35. Overall, I love the rendering and the sharpness of the lens wide open, and the character is top notch for all the lenses that I’ve used.
This is a great go anywhere lens, extremely suitable for the weather in the UK at the moment due to it's weatherproofing. Compact, lightweight and quick to focus it gives me a 35mm (well 34.5 actually) equivalent view on my X-Pro3
This was the first lens I purchased for my X-Pro 2. The quality is outstanding and as a result I sold all of my other 'Pro' gear and fully invested in the Fuji family. The earlier f1.4 lens gets a lot of favourable reviews for its majic image quality, however with the f2 while you lose one stop of...
Perfect lens for street photography as well as landscape. 35mm in full frame, perfect for in-door shooting as it can catch enough space without distorting too much of the surrounding. Sharp at f/2 and weather resistant which is very important for a lens to travel with.
Agonised between this and the f1.4 and finally bought the f2. Had the f1.4 been a little less expensive and weather resistant I think I would have gone for that. Just that tiny bit sharper with better bokeh. Very similar rendering but I'm never quite there with these f2 series.
The Fuji 23mm lens is a great lens, very sharp especially from f4, silent, nice and quick, what more could you ask for.
The Fuji 50mm f2 WR lens is compact and lightweight. Its perfect for street, and portrait photography, and gives effective focal length of 75mm. Image quality is superb, and renders nicely. with great character and smooth bokeh.
Optically l I am very pleased with the lens, but there are certain aspects to the functionality which, when compared with either the 18m or 27mm lenses (which I also have) I miss. First, with the other lenses I can switch the body to Manual Focus and the AF-L button functions, i.e. it autofocuses.
A joy to use which adds very little weight to the camera body. Pin sharp from f2 up and super fast autofocus though manual focus is also excellent. Colour rendition and contrast what one would expect from Fuji.
