The fast and responsive DIGIC 4+ image processor enables the Full HD video capabilities in both models, breathing cinematic life into captured memories.
In addition to a rear mounted LCD screen, this camera features a centrally mounted optical viewfinder, providing a distinctly authentic photography experience and allowing stories to be told just as they were experienced with the naked eye. Decisive moments in unfolding stories can be captured with responsive and precise nine-point auto focus and continuous shooting at 3.0 frames per second.

New images can be conveniently backed up to Canon’s cloud storage service, irista, via a Wi-Fi connection, ensuring stories and memories shared are never lost.
These processes are made even easier for the EOS 2000D with the inclusion of Near Field Communication (NFC), which can establish a Wi-Fi connection to a smartphone by simply tapping the device on the camera (available on compatible Android devices).
The Canon EOS 2000D includes a simple in-camera feature guides, perfect for those looking to improve their storytelling potential as they upgrade from a smartphone; six image settings outside of basic auto modes and a variety of creative filters, enabling experimentation with manual control and the artistic freedom to tell dynamic and vibrant stories. The EOS 2000D’s excellent battery life delivers approximately 500 pictures, or one hour 30 minutes and one hour 15 minutes of HD video respectively, allowing for peace of mind during extended outdoor adventures and the freedom to explore.
Canon’s latest entry-level DSLR cameras offer a fantastic gateway to the joys of interchangeable lens photography. The Canon EOS 2000D provides an easy and reliable shooting experience that enable users to capture detailed images and sharp Full HD video. As people step-up from their smartphone and expand their creativity, Canon’s new DSLR cameras will intuitively capture superbly detailed professional-looking images, time after time.

- Aperture Range: f/3.5 to f/38

- Super Spectra Coating
- Micro Motor AF System

- Rounded 6-Blade Diaphragm
Affordable, high-quality zoom
The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II is a high-quality, standard zoom lens that will appeal to photographers who prefer to travel light. With a focal length equivalent of 29-88mm in 35mm format, the lens' wide zoom range is suitable for most general photography. For close-up work, the working distance is just 0.25m (25cm) throughout the zoom range.
To minimise risk of image blur, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II incorporates Canon's four-stop Image Stabilizer technology. This allows photographers to use shutter speeds up to four times slower than normal with no perceptible increase in image blur - ideal for shooting in low light.
Aspherical lens element with Super Spectra coating
As well as ensuring true colour balance and sharp, high contrast images, Super Spectra coatings combat ghosting and flare by absorbing light reflecting off digital camera sensors or internal lens elements. An aspherical lens element delivers crisp, high contrast images - even with the aperture fully open.
For shots taken at wide apertures, a circular aperture diaphragm gives a smooth, even blur to your background, helping to emphasise foreground subjects and remove distractions.
Only environmentally-friendly, lead-free glass is used in the construction of the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II.
With the only real difference over the EOS Rebel T6 / EOS 1300D being the upgrade of the sensor from 18MP to 24.1MP, it's hard to get excited about the EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 2000D / EOS 1500D.
The Canon EOS 2000D represents one of the most minor upgrades to an existing camera that we've ever reviewed, being almost completely identical in both form and function to the 1300D model that it replaces, with the exception of the new 24 megapixel image sensor.
The Canon EOS 2000D is a minor update to the Canon EOS 1300D. Whilst the 1300D was (and still is) a budget DSLR, with built-in Wi-Fi, as an entry level model its basic specification could be accepted due to the low price.
The EOS 2000D is a safe choice for beginners on a budget, but rivals make it look outdated in some key areas
The slightly more advanced version of the 4000D, this offering is a little more up to date, with a price-tag to match. It boasts a 24.1MP APS-C sensor, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens and 3in 920k-dot rear LCD screen. However, beyond this, and a few cosmetic upgrades, it’s a very similar story.
The Canon EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 provides one of the most affordable pathways to serious photography for beginners on a budget. Interchangeable lenses, a 24 Megapixel APSC sensor, an optical viewfinder and a good LCD screen don't come much cheaper than this.
Canon hasn’t changed a great deal about the 1300D/T6 for the 2000D/T7 but the switch to a 24Mp is significant because it puts it level with the Nikon D3400, another very popular entry-level SLR.
The age-old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds a lot of truth for photography gear, but ... the Canon EOS Rebel T7 defies this logic to some extent. While the T7 feature set is best considered basic/entry-level and this is not the ideal camera for many uses (including sports and action),...
I bought the Canon eos 2000d camera about six months ago and I'm very pleased the results I have had up to now so can only get better. I think it is a great camera for the money .Also I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a reasonably priced camera.
Purchased this camera as first purchase was a great little intro to DSLR my lenses far outweigh the price of this body but this little workhorse kept up with the rest of my expensive kit. I travelled across the states earlier this year and captured some great images.
This camera is really good and we have taken some good photos of wildlife on our daily exercise during the lockdown. These include a very thirsty squirrel, an owl in flight, water voles, a heron just after catching a fish and a swan on its nest. Very good quality camera
Having had my 450d occurring faults I decided that replacing it was too much at my time of life so the 2000D seemed to fit the bill using my existing lens and so it has
A recent purchase. Very useful camera with lots of features. Takes excellent pictures. Rather handily a picture is taken virtually instantly after pressing the shutter button. Other cameras can take a relatively long time.
Great beginner camera, plenty of opportunities to learn. Brilliant choice for a beginner :)
I purchased this camera to supplement my 80D and so far I have been satisfied. The unit is lightweight, even with the Tamron 18-200 lens attached and has a positive feel when held.
I was impressed by the image quality of this, given its entry-level nature. Kit lens are good and sharp. Camera itself struggles in auto mode, but is fantastic when you start to control the White Balance and Picture Style. Photos look great straight off the camera without needing post editing.
Always loved taking photos on my android phone,so I decided to buy a Canon EOS2000d. After reading reviews I plumped for this camera and found it very easy to set up and start taking pictures. I would recommend this camera for anyone thinking of dipping his feet into real photography.
Looks like a great camera, bought for my 11yr old son for his birthday and gas shown a great interest in photography which will be very useful for his school art classes. Just need another lense now for longer distance so could do with a bit of advice what to buy.
