A wide-angle lens with enhanced perspective, focus and depth-of-field control.

As the wide-angle version of Nikon’s three perspective control (tilt-shift) lenses, the PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED delivers a dramatic ultra-wide-angle view perfectly suited for architecture, interiors, cityscapes, landscapes and more. Featuring Nikon’s versatile tilt, shift and rotation capabilities, advanced lens technologies, and the superior design and construction that have made NIKKOR lenses famous, the PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED will expand any photographer’s capabilities and creativity.

Perspective control and a wide-angle view

Nikon’s high performance perspective control lenses let you quickly adjust the focal plane of the lens—independent of your camera position—to bring an entire landscape into sharp focus, to alter the natural depth-of-field of a scene, to selectively focus on certain subjects, to offset perspective anomalies in architectural shooting and more. The PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED combines that control and a versatile wide-angle perspective.

Nikon technology for superb performance

Like all NIKKOR lenses, the PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED produces truly superior images. Three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements ensure outstanding sharpness and colour reproduction. Nano Crystal Coat (N) virtually eliminates the ghosting and flare often seen in lesser wide-angle lenses, while Aspherical lenses (AS) greatly reduce coma and other types of aberration. And since it’s a Nikon, you can expect the highest standard of lens design and durability for years of consistent performance.

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8G ED is a high-quality, compact and affordable wide-angle lens for full-frame Nikon DSLR users. Centre sharpness is good at the maximum aperture, and excellent from f/2.8 onwards, although you need to stop down to f/4 to get acceptable results at the edges of the...

The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED is a great lens to use, a very attractive focal length and offers a very good level of sharpness. The other qualities of the lens all add up to an excellent offering from Nikon, at a very reasonable price.

DP Review

The Nikkor 24mm 1.8G ED is a fast and lightweight wide-angle prime that offers very nice optical quality at a bargain price. The lens offers smooth and fast autofocus and a solid amount of light gathering ability with an F1.8 maximum aperture, which makes it one of Nikon's most affordable and best...

The AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED is a fast wide-angle lens for Nikon SLRs, but it's expensive.

Nikon's 24mm ƒ/1.8G is an excellent addition to its prime lineup, however most shooters are going to be wondering if it is worth saving a significant amount of money by buying this lens in comparison to the ƒ/1.4 version. The short answer is -- unless you need the ƒ/1.4 aperture setting -- yes.

The Nikkor delivers impressive resolution across the image frame straight from the maximum aperture. CA's are well controlled and image distortion is moderate. In addition, the bokeh quality of the lens is on a surprisingly high level for such a wide angle lens.

Lives up to its DxOmark rating. I’ve been using it for nature/landscape shots and lower-light indoor opportunities on my D780 with beautiful results. The lighter-than-expected weight of the lens is a bonus. This is one of Nikon’s better bang-for-the-buck prime lens values.

B&H Photo

I recently bought the 24mm 1.8 to have an intermediate lens between my 20mm 1.8 and my 35mm 1.8. The 24mm is very good, as I expected. Fast, accurate AF, sharp already 1.8 and with good price. The size and weight are similar to that of 20mm 1.8. Lightweight and with medium size.

Amazing lens. Perfect for landscape and nature wide open spaces photography.

I put it on a APSC right now so it's like around 35mm. It's a great lens and I am satisfied with its sharpness. If it could improve the control of purple light it could be even better.

B&H Photo

Right now, not having had it long, I would rate at 5 stars. I have only shot a couple of assignments with this lens. The images look great. I have a Nikkor 17-35 2.8 that has been a workhorse. I still use it, but it is a heavy beast. I will continue to use it when I need something that wide.

B&H Photo

This lens is a dream come true. We are avid travelers and we take photographs of landscapes and architecture. We personally find the 35mm lenses too constricting, and 28mm lenses dont really work on wide landscapes or large interior spaces.

I just received my new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8 lens and tested it today at the San Diego Zoo. Aside from terrific contrast and resolution, the lens is remarkably light, yet very well built. It is a very good addition to the Nikon family of fixed focal length f/1.8 lenses.

I recently moved to the D810 and need some better quality lens for this camera. My first purchase was an AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G. To complement that, I chose the AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8G as my wide angle lens. It has been a really good choice.

B&H Photo

Purchased this lens for landscapes and found the images to be sharp from edge to edge. Ability to photograph in low light is an added bonus to this well made lens. Works well on the Nikon D610 and D750 with very nice resolution that a prime lens can deliver.

This lens is wonderful but possibly best not purchased used... My used copy looked like new but would not produce truly sharp images; my AF-S 18-35G was sharper at 24mm. I sent it to Nikon for repair ($210 + shipping) and now it is wonderfully sharp.
