This genuine Nikon SB-20 flashgun has a bounce head, wide and tele diffusers, AF illuminator and TTL dedicated auto flash control. It's suitable for most Nikon AF and manual focus SLR cameras, plus digital models with restrictions. This one is in very good condition, comes with Alkaline AA batteries, and you can download a copy of the instructions. Please read the full description for more important information.

The flash reflector tilts internally up to 90 degrees for bounce flash, providing more even, natural lighting than direct flash. It even tilts down by 7 degrees to avoid missing the subject when taking close ups. The external auto sensor still points forwards, so exposure can be determined automatically with normal auto flash, as well as in TTL mode (see below). Built in diffusers can be rotated in front of the reflector, to expand flash coverage from the normal 35mm to 28mm wide angle, or to concentrate it for 85mm (and longer) tele lenses, or the equivalents on other formats. This gives wider coverage or greater range as appropriate.

The guide number is 30 (meters) and 100 (feet) with ISO 100 film at the standard setting. This gives a theoretical maximum range of up to 16.6m (54 feet) with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, and these distances double to 33.3m/108 feet with ISO 400 film. As always, actual range will depend on the conditions.

Fully automatic, dedicated exposure control, with 5 conventional auto ranges, TTL auto flash control, auto setting of shutter speeds and/or apertures, and many other features with suitable film cameras (see below). TTL flash measures the exposure through the lens during exposure for the most accurate exposure possible, working at any aperture and taking account of filters, bellows and other factors automatically.
