The Sony Alpha A7 II is a superb camera that has all the benefits of a full-frame sensor without the bulk. It has good AF, superb image stabilization and produces very high quality images in a wide range of conditions.

Trusted Reviews

The Sony Alpha A7 II is the sequel to a camera series that bowled us over last year. The Alpha A7 and Alpha A7R proved that CSCs could offer full-frame cameras without piling on the pounds in either weight or cost. They were great, and are great.

Amateur Photographer

When we reviewed the original Sony A7 it left a number of lasting impressions. Not only was it seen as a game changer in the way it managed to shoehorn a full-frame sensor inside a such a compact body, the superb image quality it produced alongside its comprehensive specification made it stand out...

Pocket Lint

Big quality from small scale: that's what the Sony A7 II represents to us. Get the right lens on the front and its results are quite spectacular all things considered.

Photography BLOG

The Sony A7 II is the best all-round A7-series camera yet, offering significantly improved ergonomics and customisability, more video options, faster autofocusing and startup times, better build quality and the headline-grabbing and very effective 5-axis image stabilisation system.

Stuff.tv

A fast-focusing, steady-shooting superstar of a camera designed for demanding (and well-heeled) users

ePHOTOzine

The Sony Alpha A7 Mark II adds in-camera 5-axis image stabilisation which will work with any lens used with the camera, which will be of appeal to anyone who has been using the Sony Alpha A7 series cameras with alternative lenses using an adapter.

DP Review

The Alpha 7 II continues to push Sony's full frame mirrorless line of cameras into ground-breaking territory. It is the only full frame mirrorless camera to offer in-body image stabilization systems and its performance is excellent.

What Digital Camera

There was a lot to like about the Sony A7 when it arrived at the top of the manufacturer’s CSC tree, and the good news is that the A7 II’s improvements are generally successful. The problematic design has been resolved thanks to the new handgrip and button configuration, totally transforming the way...

PC Magazine

The mirrorless, full-frame Sony Alpha 7 II improves on its predecessor with in-body stabilization, faster autofocus, and a better ergonomic design, and earns Editors' Choice honors in the process.

Sony

This camera is honestly like nothing I've ever experienced before. It even performs great in low light! But there are better cameras for that. I just wish that the auto focus was better. But that shouldn't be a problem once I upgrade my body since sony keep on improving their auto focus systems!

My first full-frame camera and I'm very impressed, I mainly use it for portraits and I'm very happy with the results I'm getting at the moment. Picture quality is superb and is easy enough to use and very lightweight and portable although battery life is a bit on the poor side so you'll definitely...

I bought this camera June 2020 with a 25 - 105 Sony lens to replace my Sony A77 Mk ii DSLR. Really liked the camera especially the dynamic range and image stabilisation which made hand holding during the Pandemic a breeze in comparison to my old DSLR.However I soon realised that the batteries were...

One of the best full frame mirror-less cameras available for the price, easy to use and full of features. Replaced my old Canon 7D MK1 and enjoying the lighter weight and faster focusing in normal lighting conditions.

I bought this camera for videography best money spent

Sony

I bought this a few weeks ago after extensive reading of every review I could find. The consensus seemed to be that for the enthusiastic hobby photographer the A7ii is excellent value and I have to agree though by the time I had purchased the highly regarded 24-105mm Sony lens I had spent rather...

Wex Photo Video

All the benefits of full-frame but without the bulkiness. It's able to cover a wide range of situations and will suit the adventurous photographer who needs quality images but has to travel light. The improved raw file recording is especially noticeable and welcome.
