This amazing tripod is an evolution of Velbon’s exciting new breed of travel tripods. The Velbon Ultrek UT-43D II is extraordinarily compact when folded, yet thanks to the ingenious 6-section reverse-folding legs, it can be extended to become a practical full-height tripod as well as a low-level macro platform.
New innovations include a 2-section telescopic centre column and 6-section legs that fold by reversing through a full 180 degrees.
This allows the maximum extended height to become 5.7 times the folded length! The UT-43D II tripod is the ideal travel solution as it packs small enough to fit into most bags and cases.
It comes complete with Velbon’s QHD-43D Ball & Socket head, which includes a DIN standard quick-release platform for easy attachment to your camera. A soft carrying case is also included.
Staff Comment:
I've got one of these tripods.
I was a bit sceptical when I first saw it, and wondered how much of a difference it would make to me and the kind of images and videos that I took, but I was genuinely surprised.
It is stunningly small enough to fit in my camera case, light enough not to injure myself or cause any pain when I take it out, but strong enough for my DSLR and Super-Telephoto Zoom Lens.
As the legs are independent, I have even used it as a monopod, but used the remaining legs as a control arm to do panning shots - really handy for both stills and videos.
Even my wife has said how good it is, and her knowledge of photography doesn't stretch beyond his phone.
This is a real find, and you will surprised at how much of an asset it will make to your kit.
