Product Reviews

TechRadar UK

Canon’s EOS M50 Mark II is a confusing little camera – while it is feature-packed, it’s only a very minor update on the first EOS M50 camera. Other than the addition of eye AF and the ability to shoot vertical video, there’s not really a whole lot different between the two versions.

Amateur Photographer

A quick glance at the specification shows little difference between the Canon EOS M50 Mark II and its predecessor. Richard Sibley looks at it from a photographer’s perspective

Like the model before it, the M50 Mark II offers a compact, DSLR styled mirrorless camera, with a 24mp APS-C CMOS sensor, which gives excellent image quality, with the same excellent colour reproduction that you get with Canon EOS DSLRs.

As a compact, relatively sophisticated and capable camera for those who like to travel light, the EOS M50 II kit ticks plenty of boxes and has real appeal to those who post images and movie clips to social media. For a serious photo enthusiast, it has limitations.

PC Magazine

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II offers some minor updates from original. It's still a very good digital camera for photographers, but one to skip if 4K video is a priority.

Camera Jabber

Like its predecessor, the Canon M50 Mark II is an attractively-sized, well-sculpted camera with a good-quality sensor, a responsive vari-angle touchscreen, a decent electronic viewfinder and a very-capable autofocus system.

DP Review

The EOS M50 Mark II is a compact and easy to use mirrorless camera with a 24MP APS-C sensor. It features only modest upgrades compared to its predecessor, but it comes in at an attractive price point with pleasing ergonomics and solid image quality.

The Digital Picture

Having a camera handy will, alone, result in more images captured, and the M50 II is especially easy to keep handy. I took this little camera's predecessor along on several short trips and can say that its convenience factor is really high.

Digital Camera World

4K is not its forte, but the Canon EOS M50 Mark II has plenty to offer – especially to content creators...

Bought this camera due to it's low-light capabilities and it's insane eye-tracking auto focus. It really is a feature that stands out in comparison to other cameras. The only slight thing that lets this camera down is the position of the mic port; it prevents the fold out LCD from tilting fully.

I love taking pictures and I have to admit until now I thought the camera on my phone was taking great pictures. I was so wrong. The difference of using this and phone camera is huge. Apart from greater quality, richer colours, I can fit so much more on the pictures with the same angle.

This will take me ages to get the hang of but boy will i have fun trying. Takes excellent photos. Highly recommend as its very light

Harrison Cameras

Great Mirrorless camera to get into photography with and good control over the settings in Canons very easy to navigate layout.

This camera is so compact and easy to pack in your bag. Have had DSLR cameras before that were huge and I always ended up not using them as they were so heavy to bring along to events.I use this camera both for photography as well as to record videos for the online yoga classes I teach.

I've had this camera for about 2 years now, and it's a bit of a disappointment. I mostly take photographs of animals and wanted a fast camera. And it's fast with 10 frames per second. The problem is that the autofocus isn't.

Bought this for my wife, she is very happy with it..

Really impressed with this camera. It's styled like a mini DSLR complete with detachable lens. It has built-in Wi-Fi - for vloggers to livestream - and Bluetooth to connect to your phone via the Canon Camera Connect app.
