Zoom in on mind-bending new possibilities.

Meet the first NIKKOR fisheye lens with zoom capability - and the first NIKKOR zoom to capture epic 180° circular images. The AF-S FISHEYE NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED lens brings a new level of versatility and sharpness to extreme wide-angle lenses, freeing you to choose the right fisheye perspective for the shot; to create frame-filling images from as close as 0.5 feet from your subject or to follow your passion into challenging, heavily backlit, even wet and dirty situations. For those seeking a new source of inspiration and expression, this lens delivers.

NIKKOR's first fisheye zoom lens

If you’re the kind of photographer or videographer who likes to think outside the box, the AF-S FISHEYE NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED lens opens a new world of possibilities. Not only can you shoot traditional full-frame fisheye images, you can also zoom out to create fascinating 180° circular images. And you can get extremely close to your subject—as close as 0.5 feet with a 0.34x reproduction ratio—for close-up fisheye shots. Create images unlike any you've seen.

Optimized for Nikon's latest DSLRs

The AF-S FISHEYE NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED lens builds on NIKKOR's legacy of superb wide-angle optics and produces flawless detail across the entire frame at any aperture. Three ED glass elements and two Aspherical (AS) lens elements combat chromatic aberration and colour fringing for stunning sharpness and contrast. Nano Crystal Coat (N) cuts through ghosting and flare, key because your 180° shots often will include bright light sources like the sun. Expect consistent, brilliant photos and videos.

Durable design and agile performance

The AF-S FISHEYE NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED lens is a workhorse. The front and rear elements have Nikon’s protective Fluorine coat, which lets grime and liquid roll right off the lens. The lens barrel is dust and moisture resistant for shooting in challenging conditions. You can even remove the lens hood and lens cap together to shoot 180° circular images, or leave the hood on to shoot a frame-filling traditional fisheye image. Simple, robust and intuitive design means you get the shot without the worry.

A-M stands for Auto-Manual Mode. Thanks to a mechanism incorporated in the lens barrel, smooth focusing operation in Manual focus mode is realized in the same way as users have become accustomed to with conventional manual-focus lenses by adding an appropriate torque to the focus ring.

Aspherical Lens

A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the centre of the lens.

Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism

An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting. With conventional D/G type lenses, the diaphragm blades are operated by mechanical linkage levers.

ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass

An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

IF Lens

A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.

Select NIKKOR lenses have a focusing mode which allows switching from automatic to manual focusing with virtually no lag time by simply turning the focusing ring on the lens. This makes it possible to seamlessly switch to fine manual focusing while looking through the viewfinder.

Nano Crystal Coat

An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat uses ultrafine, nano-sized crystal particles to eliminate reflections inside the lens throughout the spectrum of visible light waves (380 to 780 nm) in ways that far exceed the limits of conventional antireflection coating systems. Nano Crystal Coat not only solves ghost effects caused by red light, which was incredibly difficult for previous systems. It also effectively reduces ghost and flare effects caused by light entering the lens diagonally. The result: clearer images.

Super Integrated Coating

Nikon Super Integrated Coating is Nikon's term for its multilayer coating of the optical elements in NIKKOR lenses.

Silent Wave Motor

AF-S NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM). This technology converts “traveling waves” into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that's extremely accurate and super quiet.

Photography BLOG

The fish-eye or ultra wide angle look is quite extreme and stylised, and is therefore unlikely to be something you want to use for every shot. However, when used with certain subjects, it’s a very interesting look which can be very effective.

PC Magazine

The AF-S Fisheye Nikkor 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED is a lens for Nikon shooters that captures a full circular fisheye image at its widest angle and a standard fisheye shot when zoomed in.

Although fisheye lenses are of a specialised nature, clearly there is a demand as there are so many available, at all price levels. However, there are very few fisheye zooms and even fewer lenses that offer the choice of a circular 180-degree image or a full frame 180-degree on the diagonal image.

Excellent IQ. As an exotic lens, the newest Nikon 8-15 Fisheye is an exquisite creative tool. It is supremely sharp, contrasty, and saturated across all focal lengths and apertures. It is extremely sharp in the center at all focal lengths and apertures.

Instead of carrying my beloved fisheye Nikkors 8mm f/2.8 (huge size and circular image) and the 16mm f/3.5 (full frame) I can now carry only this one that provides both kinds of fisheye images. Very well built, except for the plastic hood/cover that may become loose with wear.

Being a fine arts photographer my passion for the view has a tendency to ebb from time to time. However after getting this amazing Zoom fish eye my senses have been reinvigorated. Yes, this feature gives you multiple glasses in one. The quality is right up there with the family of Nikon Lenes.

Very happy with this lens. Much better quality at 8mm than the Sigma prime. Slightly better at 15mm than the Nikon prime. If you have an DX camera you can use it to replace the Nikon 10.5mm lens as well. Lens is nicely light and pretty compact.

I used for the wedding with D810 right after I received the copy. I was so surprised that the lens focuses fast and was sharp, over my expectation. Highly recommended. One thing is that you have be very careful not to harm the lens front element when you shoot wide when you have to take off lens...

Been having a lot of fun with this one.

Very sharp lens for extreme wide angle. Not for someone that just needs a little wider field of view. At 8 mm, the image is perfectly circular. Sharpest extreme wide angle lens Ive tried and I have used quiet a few.

Nikon D810 with Nikon AF-S Fisheye NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED Lens is a great addition to my Natural History Photography

B&H Photo

I have only had the lens for a short time, but have used it to take dramatic closeup photographs of Hibiscus flowers growing in my sun room at the 8 mm focal length. Very sharp.

B&H Photo

Like the cap far better at keeping the lens safe and for what it dose its great.
